Alright! After a long delay and numerous excuses I've made up for myself, here comes, at last my review of this amazingly designed figure. To start, I just want to say how blown away I am when I first took it out of its box and started playing around with it and to my surprise, its sculpting is more than decent and its articulation is as impressive as I've heard and saw from many Revoltech collectors.

"Gee whiz David, I'm all excited about this figure, but just what's so great about this King Gainer figure and Revoltechs in general?" you ask. First of all, dear readers, let me just start by saying that it wasn't until I bought this figure that I realize one of the biggest difference b/w gunpla and Revoltech.

Gunpla's main concern is with the accurate visual representation of an MS, whereas Revoltech's business come from their ability to bring out the spirit of a mecha.

You see, Revoltech's ingenuity isn't just in the way they sculpt a figure, but the way they place the joints. The joints are placed in a such a way that just about any reasonable pose you can think up will be perfectly represented by the figure, often so naturally that it's scary. Before we get on to the joints though, let's take at some detail shots.

Finally, a good petition.

Undergraduate Academic Student Concerns & Request Due To Strike

The petition's concerns seems to match my main points entirely! Just like I mentioned, the main focus of the strike as of now shouldn't be when it will end, but when it does, end what will happen to us students?

Below are some copypastas from the petition.

Questions, Requests and Concerns For The Table:

1. Timeline of semester thus a request for a published scenario analysis e.g. 10 week strike = winter term ending May 20; or 15 week strike = winter term ending June 10, etc.

2. *New Item: Request for more than 24 hour notice when classes resume.

3. When or can this school semester be scrapped? Will a refund be provided?

4. Financial Consideration: Winter Fee due date **Registrar already responded**

5. Request for a Special Academic Remediation Committee for international and graduating students facing undue hardship due to the strike (previous items 4,5 & 6)

6. *New Item: Request for Improved Communication on strike related issues.

7. *New Item: Request for 2 weeks of Deferred Academic Standing for students who have found full time employment during the strike

8. *New Item: Request for help in facilitating or raising funds for a financial hardship fund or food bank for students who are in need due to the strike. (Food4thought is a division of YFS and is consequently closed during the strike.)

9. *New Item: Request that Professors that are not under CUPE to contact their students at least once a week via moodle or York email accounts. Either with suggestions on what to read or what work to be doing.

10. *New Item: Request there be financial consideration for undergraduate students living in York Apartments since they are living on campus to obtain their degree.

Please everyone, sign the petition since like I said, if the school does not notice the students every time a strike happens, for us students, there is no point hoping that the strike will have an early end if this nonsense of ignoring the students will happen every time there is a strike. We as the students, the most integral part of any university, have a right to know what will be happening after every strike!

More on the strike

The strike has lasted two months now. Although everyone is protesting against the prolonging of it, the way I see it, it doesn't quite matter when it ends anymore. Would it really be that much better if the strike ended sooner than later? I'm not sure about that. Why? We as the students have payed for our education, therefore, purchased it just as we would purchase a product. despite this, the school has payed no attention to the student's concern over the course the strike and as a result, there has been no talk about how the student's will be affected after the strike is over. In other words, questions like:

-What will happen?
-Will we lose our first semester?
-Our school year?
-What about trying to squeeze a 3 month material into a one month time frame?
-Would the school be responsible for our inability to perform as well?

Are being addressed by the school at all. The school's only concern as of now is to combat the evil CUPE3903.

That's why, instead of demanding for a sooner strike end date, what we should be concerned about most is for the school to pay more attention to the students who float their giant boat in the first place.

The students have payed to receive their education. If the school was not able to deliver, it is their fault and responsibility. Would a factory be payed by the purchaser if they failed to deliver the ordered product even if the factory had an excuse? No, the factory would simply go out of business. Would a store last if they failed to deliver what the customer bought from them? No the store would be sued and very rightfully so. Although I'm not suggesting we should sue the university, but really, there is no excuse for them not being able deliver it. As the payee, the school's only real obligation is to deliver to us what we payed for. Not even that, the school has discussed nothing as far as how the students will have to cope after the strike. This is ridiculous.

Is it really ok to be left in the dark without even knowing what's going to happen to that education that we have paid for? Is it okay for the school to be ignoring the students who have given them money to be educated? I don't think so. Therefore, it is my most sincere hope that one day the school will be willing to address the situation in a fair and just manner expecially regarding how the students will be affected.

Official Opening and Thoughts on the Strike at York University

Announcement to all teachers and students who care to read on!

The purpose of this blog is to provide information regarding my school, but also includes bits of my thoughts regarding it. It is at times like this that we must really think about just what we came to school to do. To be educated, to learn, to grow, to experience new things. Perhaps all of these has been your goals when you decided to attend university. But as a York University student, I cannot say how very distraught at about the current TA strike. As far as I'm concerned, no matter what ends up happening as a result, the ones who will suffer the most are also the ones who are never even brought into either sides' consideration before and during the strike: the students. As students, we have paid for our education and since we paid, we have a right to demand of it.

It seems ludicrous to me that during the entire duration, the students who makes the school run in the first place has been left out completely from the list of various considerations. As of right now, I will not demand that the strike should end any time soon. Rather, I demand that the situation be looked at from the students' perspective. Is it not us who funds the school? Is it not us who provide who provide jobs for the TAs' and Professors with jobs? Finally, is it not us the students who payed to be educated and to learn? If the payer have provided money in exchange for a product, then shouldn't the payee's obligation be the providing of said product?

As far as I'm concerned, the payee has not delivered. The money has been given, but the product not received. Ridiculous.
